Spondylus shell, also known as spiny oyster, is a bivalve molluscs shell often incorporated into beautiful Southwest jewelry. Interestingly, although they are known as oysters, they are actually related to scallops. Fatoya Yazzie has created this highly detailed Sunface bracelet using spiny oyster as the primary source of color. The Sunface is representative of the sacred Sun Father and is an omnipresent part of Zuni culture and craftsmanship.
