Baskets

The creation and use of baskets marked the earliest craft produced by people of the Southwest. The earliest ancestors of today’s Pueblo people were known as the “Basketmakers” for their utilitarian objects like sandals, grain-winnowers, storage vessels, and clothing. Twin Rocks Trading Post features baskets from the Navajo and other tribes that celebrate the continuing role of basketry in daily Native American life.
