Once again, the old master from Santo Domingo Pueblo, Ray Lovato, has created a memorable necklace. It is fashioned from beautiful, gem-quality Stone Mountain turquoise from a small mine in northern Nevada. The colors range from deep blue to green, with every subtle hue in between. It is also “signed” with Ray’s distinctive single bead attached to the cotton neck wrap.
Ray Lovato - Lapidary Artist: Ray Lovato is America’s premier artist creator of hand-ground turquoise beads called heishi. A native Kewa speaker, Ray is from Santo Domingo Pueblo in New Mexico. Descended from a long line of jewelers, he learned the craft from his parents, Ike and Tonita Lovato, beginning his artistic career at age eleven.
