Snake Eye Zuni Bracelet

Sidney Hooee was born January 9, 1915, in Zuni, New Mexico, and died January 21, 1998, at age 83. Sidney is associated with needlepoint jewelry made in the Zuni style and this bracelet is a classic example of both Sidney's style and Zuni work. His art is both delicate and precise. It is often noted that he was married to Daisy Hooee Nampayo,  a well known potter. His hallmark is a very simple "SH," and although his work is exceptionally good, there does not seem to be much written about him.
